I am attending the AppSecUSA Conference in New York in November as a moderator for the panel on “Threat Intelligence and Software Security: Opportunities for Improvement?” The panelists include Joshua Corman (Director of Security Intelligence, Akamai Technologies), Chris Eng (Vice President of Research at Veracode), Space Rogue (Threat Intelligence Manager for Trustwave SpiderLabs) and Joe Sechman (Manager, Software Security Research, HP).

Here’s the geek speak on the session:

“The symbiosis between threat intelligence and software security is only going to strengthen as adversaries become more fluent in waging attacks by any means necessary to achieve the desired impact of their actions. By encouraging more open discussion amongst threat intelligence researchers, software security professionals and penetration testers, the means by which an adversary can exploit these weaknesses diminishes. This panel will discuss ways in which the threat intelligence and software security community can increase collaboration in order to defend today’s evolving threat landscape.”

I’m excited about participating in this discussion, and look forward to seeing you at the conference. — Mark
